1. Introduction

We are mavi Finans Ltd, a company registered in Cyprus with registered office in Nicosia, Cyprus (“Handlr”, “we”, “us”).

This privacy policy explains how we process your personal data when you use Handlr (“the Service”), whether as a creator receiving support or a supporter making donations. It also explains your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Cyprus data protection laws.

mavi Finans Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through the Handlr platform.

2. When you support a creator

When you donate to a creator on Handlr, your personal information (name, email address, and payment details) is shared with that creator. In these cases, the creator is also a data controller, independently of Handlr. The creator is responsible for how they use your information.

3. Personal data we collect

Creators: Name, email, profile info (username, bio, avatar), KYC data (country, IBAN, payment preferences), and payment account details processed by mavi pay and Stripe.

Supporters: Name, email, donation amount, optional message, and payment details (processed by Stripe — we never store full card numbers).

All users: IP address, browser type, and anonymized usage data via self-hosted analytics. No third-party advertising.

4. How we use your data

  • Contract: Provide the Service — page creation, payment processing, emails.
  • Legal obligation: EU tax reporting, AML compliance, legal requests.
  • Legitimate interests: Improve the Service, prevent fraud, respond to inquiries.
  • Consent: Optional analytics cookies. Withdraw via Cookie Policy.

5. Data storage

Data stored on EU servers with TLS encryption. Payments via Stripe (EU-based) and mavi pay. Emails via mittera (Amazon SES, EU region). Transfers outside EU use Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Retention

Data retained while account is active. Deleted/anonymized within 90 days of account closure, except financial records (6 years under Cyprus law).

7. Your GDPR rights

Right to access, rectify, erase, port, object, and restrict processing. Contact hello@handlr.sh. Response within 30 days. Right to complain to Cyprus Data Protection Commissioner.
